Releases
Releases
Every Kinesis app shares one version number, now 0.0.1 alpha; public builds will be published on kinesis.one, and nightly builds are described here.
One version for everything
Every Kinesis app shares one version number. The web app, the iPhone and Mac apps, and the Kinesis editions of open-source apps all move together.
The current version is 0.0.1, alpha.
Availability
During the alpha, Kinesis is not yet available to the public. Public builds will be published on kinesis.one when they are cut.
Nightly builds
Development builds are nightlies. They are described here on kinesis.wiki, so you can see what is changing. A nightly carries the shared version number plus a "nightly" suffix with its date.
A nightly is a preview, not a promise. A feature in a nightly may change or be taken out before a public build.
What alpha means
- The parts are real but unfinished.
- Features are added, changed and removed often.
- Pages in this wiki say "in development" when a part is built but not yet in regular use.
Editions of open-source apps
Kinesis keeps its editions current with upstream. See Kinesis Prime.
Built is not released
Written code is not a release. A build is not a release until it is seen working. See Committed is not live.
