Plots

Proposals Kinesis raises with their reasons, accepted or dismissed in a tap, so Kinesis does the noticing and you do the deciding.

What it gives you

You get a few proposals, each with the reason it was raised. You accept or dismiss each one in a tap. Each "no" teaches the next round.

What a plot is

A plot is one proposal. It can be a task, an ask, a goal, an aid, an event, a book or a note. It always says why it was raised.

When you accept a plot it becomes a thought, is filed under a goal, is merged with something you already have, or is let go.

Where plots come from

Plots come from several parts of Kinesis, such as the Scout, Kinesis Go and the Wiki. Each plot shows where it came from.

Principles

  • Machines notice; people decide. Nothing accepts a plot for you.
  • Attention is limited by design. Only a few new proposals arrive at a time.
  • A queue nobody works is a backlog. When proposals pile up, the answer is to clear them, not to add more.

Where you see them

Plots show in the app's attention strip, on the roadmap, and in a stack of proposals.
